Sunflowers in the Nighttime

Poem 13 · Dawn

why it hurts

The heart breaks, to make space for those suffering. So that they might find refuge.

Anger burns, so that you light the torch of justice — and keep it alive.

Despair makes a void in you. So that hope, like raindrops, fills you up.

Tears happen to all of us. Like a gentle reminder, that we're all the same.
