Poem 14 ยท Day

Words

What do you tell a raindrop about the sea?

How do you soothe a flame in the wind?

Have you words,

for when the butterfly drowns

or for the sound of a burning cedar tree?

Holding on,

like grasping onto grains of sand

instead, I pour them out like diamonds.

There are no words for loss, and suffering

only expressions of love.
