Part I

Night

Let not the waves of the sea separate us now, and the years you have spent in our midst become a memory… Yet now it cries aloud unto you, and would stand revealed before you. And ever has it been that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation. Gibran Khalil Gibran

Poem 1 · Night

At Sea

I yearn to bask in your sunshine again, my love

and to be nowhere but in your shadow

Seated under the veil of love

together as children of the sea

I float in your ocean

kindness upon kindness

my tears mixing with its clear water

becoming one

Your ocean's waves

rocking me from side to side

like the hug of the beloved

returned from sailing afar

I love you too, Daria

my tears are just the water of your ocean flowing back to it

my heart is your houseboat, only a home at sea with you

Rest in love, habibi.
