Poem 22 ยท Twilight

Wildflowers

Who plants the wildflowers

that everyone gets to see?

Who made it so we can

walk around, and simply be?

We get to swim in the ocean

and climb the mountain

and still get to tell the tale

We were around when it rained,

and sometimes that rain was hail.

Who made it so that we could tell

the bad from the good?

Even when everyone else

In the face of evil, simply stood

Who made it so that we loved our children

and hoped to see them grow.

Sometimes life takes from you,

and you don't get to reap what you sow

How can it be both kind, and cruel

that simple questions prove so hard?

Would we believe the answer is love

when we hear it from a mother

or find it on a greeting card?

The answers are all around us

planted, just like wildflowers.
